The Chupacabra

Update! - March 2006

I recently got this e-mail from a concerned Internet user, who found our Chupacabra page via a Google Image Search:

I think you can stop asking about Chupacabra. The pictures on your website are of a Fox or Coyote with one or both of a particular disease.

The animal obviously had long-term demodetic and/or sarcoptic mange. I would guess it was probably sarcoptic mange, but it could be either or both. There have been other animals photographed in North America that were nearly identical. In 2004, they had a Fox with severe mange in Pennsylvannia, and they thought they had discovered a new type of animal based on it's completely strange appearance.

Have a nice day.

Sure, there might be some smack-talkery going on there, but I am just so excited that:

A. Someone found the website
B. Someone outside of Texas has heard of the Chupacabra and had something intelligent to say.

Let's here it for the Internet!

Down here in Texas, we don't go for that whole Bigfoot mess. We have the chupacabra, which is smaller, but definitely more notorious. Whereas the big guy probably is just running around looking for misplaced picnic baskets, the chupacabra has gained notoriety in the border region as a malevolent creature. It is supposedly an evil creature that goes around killing goats and other smaller livestock. The below creature was shot just outside of San Antonio after it was caught . . . you guessed it - killing livestock.

Take a look at the below pictures and judge for yourself. Like any good Internet story, I got these pictures from a friend who knew someone who knew the reporter who covered the case.

Feral dog? Malnurished coyote? Midget in disguise?

"Look at those snappers, Ralph"

Weird, coarse fur.

What big ears you have, Grandma . . .

These pics are copyrighted, so no making "The Chupacabra Sucks" shirts

Here are the two stories I found on what was reported as the "Elmendorf Beast"
