"If they ban all guns, can we use swords?"

"Guns are cool."

The shortest distance between two points is a fast moving projectile. Listed below are the paintball guns (or markers, if you are politically correct) I like to use in our games. There are also some other projects and pictures of some cool guns in action.

Tippmann A-5

The Tippmann A-5 is the primary weapon I use in paintball games. It is slick, accurate with Tippmann's awesome Flat Line barrel, and above all - looks like an MP-5. The nylon straps hanging off the shoulder stock are an attachment point for my harness (mod'd pod holders with 1980s ALICE suspenders). I am showing the marker "sans hopper" for maximum effect.

Sheridan PGP

Here is a Sheridan PGP pistol I use as a back-up weapon on occasion. It is shown next to a holster I modified from a Vietnam-era M-14 single mag pouch.

This is how it looks in the holster.

Stock-Class Phantom

I always liked the idea of stock class games. There is an measured amount of chaos that always creeps its way into pump-only games. People do crazy stuff they wouldn't do if there were a squad of full-auto markers heading their way. I still haven't convinced all of the Raiders to get pump guns, but I'm working on it.

Also check out some more exotic weapons.

Sheridan "Scout" Pellet Gun

Most people who are at least a little into guns are familiar with the Scout rifle concept. More or less, the idea is that by mounting a LER scope (long eye relief - i.e. pistol scope) to the location on the rifle where the rear sight would normally go, the shooter can acquire a quicker site picture and react faster to target movement, than with a receiver mounted scope. The Germans used this design successfully during the second World War and it is gaining popularity for use in hunting and tactical situations.

Taking the cue from an article in Backwoodsman magazine, I mounted a pistol scope to my Sheridan Model 392 pellet rifle.

The rifle features a back-up Williams peep site as well as the scout scope. Though I am currently using this pellet rifle for the daunting task of keeping our backyard safe from malicious soda cans, it was definitely designed with game harvesting ideas in mind.

The bigger .22 caliber pellets can then be reclaimed and melted down into ammunition for the slingshot or muzzleloader. Pretty cool.
